Hewitt Robins have recently designed and manufactured a replacement 1.5m wide x 3.8m long single deck Screen.
Hewitt Robins visited the site to look at the existing Niagara F10 screen which was in need of replacement. Hewitt Robins offered Breedon a solution where they could design a machine that would fit into the existing installation with no modifications and they could also design the machine to re-use the existing screening media.
Hewitt Robins supplied a V-9 1.50m x 3.80m Inclined Single Deck Screen which came complete with and twin bearing, oil lubricated V9 vibrator unit. The frame of the screen came with a feed box which had rubber liners, a discharge lip with rubber liners, rubber lagged vibrator tube, rubber crossmember protection and support frame to suit Tema Isenmann WS85 polyurerthane modular system. The screen also came with a v-belt drive arrangement which consisted of a vibrator pulley, motor pulley, drive belt, 11kw drive motor and pivoting motor base. The screen was sitting on coiled support springs which had spring protection and like Hewitt Robins do when replacing Niagara screens they remove the complete existing screen frame and sit the screen on 4 new spring support stools. This helps reduce the weight into the building which also results in less structural vibrations.
The screen is now up and running and the Quarry Manager Declan Hemming commented, “The screen has been in place a month now, and we are extremely happy with the end product. Hewitt robins were prompt in response and very well organised in the build up to the install. I would certainly recommend for any screen replacement projects.”
