Hewitt Robins Replaces Screen in Poland

Hewitt Robins International has recently completed the successful replacement of a critical screening installation in north-western Poland. The project involved replacing a triple shafted 6’ x 16’ triple deck horizontal screen that had been experiencing repeated mechanical failures, leading to costly downtime and production delays.

Rather than attempting further repairs, the customer decided to invest in a new bespoke screen solution. Working alongside CSS, Hewitt Robins engineered and supplied a made-to-measure 6’ x 16’ triple deck horizontal screen, designed to fit precisely into the footprint of the original unit.

The newly installed screen incorporates a robust two-shaft overhead exciter unit, carefully specified to match the speed, throw, and G-force of the outgoing machine. This ensured seamless integration into the existing process while delivering improved reliability and easier maintenance.

Key specifications include:

• Screen size: 6’ x 16’ triple deck horizontal screen
• Throughput: 200tph
• Application: Washing 0–40mm sand and gravel products
• Exciter unit: Two-shaft overhead design with optimised dynamics
• Design feature: Increased deck spacing for easier maintenance and quicker change-outs

In this case, urgency was critical. Before the new machine was delivered, the original screen suffered a major mechanical failure, further underlining the need for rapid replacement. Hewitt Robins responded by manufacturing the bespoke screen in just six weeks – a turnaround time that minimised disruption and allowed the customer to resume operations with minimal delay.
