Hewitt Robins delivers bespoke dewatering screen upgrade to improve sand processing efficiency
Hewitt Robins has recently designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke, made-to-measure dewatering screen to replace an ageing unit at a customer’s site.
Following a site visit to assess the existing installation, the Hewitt Robins engineering team carried out detailed measurements before designing and supplying a 1.5m wide x 4.0m long dewatering screen, complete with a purpose-built support frame to suit WS85 polyurethane media. The installation also included a fully machined motor beam to accommodate two vibrator motors, support springs, and comprehensive rubber protection on all crossmembers to maximise durability and service life.
The new dewatering screen is now processing up to 150 tonnes per hour of building sand, delivering a final product with less than 10% moisture content, significantly improving material quality and operational efficiency.
This latest project demonstrates Hewitt Robins’ ability to provide tailored screening solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing plant layouts, helping customers extend equipment life, enhance performance, and achieve consistent production results.
