Hewitt Robins has successfully supplied and installed a replacement double-deck screen for one of the Midlands’ premium sand and gravel operations, ensuring minimal disruption, improved reliability, and long-term durability.
The customer required a complete replacement for an ageing and cracked double-deck screen that had become increasingly problematic. The unit was responsible for processing approximately 280 tonnes per hour of sand and gravel, meaning a robust and reliable solution was essential.
To withstand the demanding operating environment, the new Hewitt Robins double-deck screen was supplied with full rubber lining and polyurethane modular decks, providing exceptional wear protection and extended service life. Crucially, it was engineered to fit the existing footprint with minimal modification, enabling a seamless transition with no changes needed to the supporting structure and allowing the use of the same type of media as the outgoing screen.
Installation ran smoothly from start to finish, and the screen has now been in operation for almost a month. Initial performance feedback has been extremely positive, with the customer reporting excellent efficiency and reliability.
