Screen Supplied to Indonesia’s Largest Nickel Ore mines.

24 Jun 2024

Hewitt Robins has recently replaced a worn-out triple deck wash screen at one of Indonesia’s biggest Nickel Ore mines.

Hewitt Robins designed a screen that fitted onto the existing footprint so that minimal modifications were required. The screen was a heavy-duty QV14 2.4m x 6.1m Triple Deck Inclined Screen, designed to handle up to 500tph of -40mm Nickel Ore. The inclined wash screen is screening at 28mm top deck, 14mm middle deck and 7mm bottom deck. It came complete with an oil-lubricated QV14 pod-style vibrator unit that runs on 4 bearings. The vibrator tube is rubber-lagged and the drive comes with a v-belt drive, motor pulleys, a 37kw drive motor and pivoting motor base. The screen is installed on support springs and spring base plates and is fitted with friction check assemblies to control the vibration during start-up and shutdown. All the crossmembers are rubber-protected and the screen also has spray bars and P.U Nozzles to wash the material.

The screen has now been running for over 4 months, improving the washing capacity and efficiency and reducing the vibrating into the surrounding structure.
