Hewitt Robins has supplied a replacement Grizzly Feeder to one of Europe’s largest Lead & Zinc Mines.
Hewitt Robins was awarded the contract to supply a replacement mechanical 1.8m x 2.7m Heavy Duty Grizzly Feeder, replacing an old Locker electromagnetic feeder.
The feeder came complete with an oil-lubricated LPE vibrator unit, fabricated frame with 1.5m long impact section, Hardox Impact section liners, 1.2m grizzly bar section, v belt drive, 22kw drive motor, pivoting motor base, support springs and variable speed control. The existing feeder was tired and worn and wasn’t delivering enough tonnes to the Kue Ken Jaw. Hewitt Robins supplied a more aggressive grizzly feeder that increased the tonnage from 50tph up to 400tph.
The installation was very tight; however, Hewitt Robins designed the feeder to fit onto the existing footprint with minimal modification. The feeder is now in full operation, and the rest of the plant is struggling to keep up with it!
